Our Certified Yoga Teacher Training program prepares you to teach a style of yoga that is rooted in the Eight Limbs of Yoga. Our study of Thirumoolar's Ashtanga Therapeutic Yoga influences our style, as does hatha yoga. Our distance study program focuses on teaching you to instruct multi-level hatha yoga with a class theme, allowing you to infuse your class with all the limbs of yoga, emphasizing emotional and spiritual changes while enjoying the benefits of a physical practice.

CERTIFICATION PROCESS – Certified Yoga Teacher

HOW DO I BECOME CERTIFIED? All you need to do to complete the online Yoga certification is:

  • Read/view all materials
  • Practice teaching and complete all activities in the manuals
  • Complete written assignments (given to you when you purchase the program)
  • Pass open book exams
  • Pass a practical exam (via video)

After you complete these activities, you will receive earn your CYT status.

HOW LONG IS MY CERTIFICATION VALID AND HOW DO I RENEW MY CERT?  Your certificate is good for two years. Renewal will be easy and inexpensive. When you sign up for the course, you'll be given access to our portal system, which will offer you a renewal option. You will simply submit the form documenting at least 15 hours of continuing education (through us, another provider, or any books you read, workshops you attend, etc.) and a $35 renewal fee.

LEARNING ACTIVITIES: There are activities in the manual that help create an experience closer to that of a live workshop. While you don’t have to turn in anything from these exercises, they are great learning tools. (Please note that you DO have homework assignments to turn in, but the activities in the book do not have to be turned in.)  You can use some of these activities with your own students as you teach them about living a Yogic lifestyle. The course will teach you about living your Yoga “off the mat” and how you can invite your students to do the same. This is about more than physical postures; it’s a pursuit of contentment, peace, gratitude and happiness!

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE THE COURSE AND VIEW MATERIALS? This course can be completed at your convenience. There is no proctor for the exam (it is self-administered). There is an 18-month time limit to complete the course.
