Kids Yoga Teacher Training – RCYT

We are a Yoga Alliance Affiliate Registered Children’s Yoga School (RCYS), so when you complete our live 95-hour Kids Yoga Teacher Training program, you are eligible to submit your credentials to Yoga Alliance to become a RCYT (Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher*). Earning your Registered Yoga Teacher certification through a Yoga Alliance School is the gold standard in the yoga industry. *Must be an RYT-200 to earn RCYT status, but all are welcomed to take the training – regardless of other yoga teacher training or experience.

Training Options: Please note that students may opt to take only the 21-hour Intro to Kids Yoga Training , which is the Foundational Course. For those wanting additional training or an RCYT status, the Advanced Course (Kids Adaptive and Accessible Yoga – KAY) is an option. The entire RCYT program is 95 hours.

Prerequisites

  • Introduction to Kids Yoga – No Prerequisites
  • Advanced Training (Kids Adaptive and Accessible Yoga or KAY) – Introduction to Kids Yoga must be taken first
  • ALL are welcome to take the trainings, but only RYT (Registered Yoga Teachers) may apply for RCYT (Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher) status.

Continuing Education Credits

Our Kids Yoga Teacher Training courses are Yoga Alliance approved. The entire RCYT program counts as 95 CECs.

Parents, Educators, Pediatric Professionals or anyone who has an opportunity to interact with children!  We do not expect you to have previous yoga experience and you will not feel out of place or left behind, regardless of whether or not you’ve ever taken a yoga class.

When is the next Kids Yoga Teacher Training?

Hours are:
Friday Noon – 8PM
Sat & Sun – 9AM – 5PM

We’ll take a 1 hour meal break each day.

 

 

Do I have to take both the Intro and Advanced modules?

No. You may take the Intro to Kids Yoga alone if desired. If you are seeking RCYT status, you must also complete the Advanced Training: Kids Adaptive and Accessible Yoga (KAY) within a 3 year period, but you are welcome to take only the Intro to Kids Yoga. You don’t have to decide up front; take the Intro class and see if you want to continue with the KAY module.

Do I have to take the Intro and the KAY modules in the same city (Kids Yoga)?

No. If you decide to take both the Intro and the Kay (Advanced Training) modules, you can take some training in Nashville and some at YoYo Yoga School’s primary location in St. Louis, MO (or elsewhere, if they hold training at other locations in the future).

RCYT Program – 95 Hours

Students seeking RCYT status have 3 years to complete the Intro and Advanced (KAY) trainings.

Intro to Kids Yoga

  • One 3-day weekend
  • 21 contact hours plus homework

Advanced Training: Kids Adaptive and Accessible Yoga (KAY)

  • Two 3-day weekends and one 2-day weekend (8 days total)
  • 56 contact hours plus homework
