RYT300 Intensive Meditations – ASSIGNMENT
Live Students: We cover meditation in class, so you may skip this assignment.
Remote Physical Track Students: Please download and practice the meditations, but you do not need to turn in any written or video assignments.
Remote Emotional Track Students: Please download and practice the meditations and also turn in the assignment.
ALL students: If this meditation does not resonate with you, you may select any meditation. However, please remember that sometimes if we are struggling with a particular meditation, there may be a benefit in working through it. Things that come easily to us are not where our learning occurs. But, that said…if you truly do not want to select this as your meditation, that’s fine! Just select a meditation and do it for 60 days and turn that in as your homework. Even then, it does NOT have to be the same meditation for 60 days if you are unable to do the same one this long.
I think there can be value in doing the same meditation for 60 days (we did this in my studies in India) but if you feel you can’t do the same meditation for that many days in a row, then change it. In India, we were taught to do the same meditation daily for 60 days because we needed to learn to keep our awareness, stay calm, deal with any frustrations or feelings that come up, and overcome those. Being uncomfortable can be good, but again, this is your choice.
Meditations
You should have received a solid foundation of meditation in your RYT200. If you have not developed a personal meditation practice, I encourage you to do so.
This helps us personally and professionally. If you are recommending meditation as a way to help your clients heal the subtle energy system, reduce stress, be more mindful, live with awareness, etc., if you are actively reaping the benefits of meditation, it will shine through to your client. If you aren’t, that will actively shine through, too. If we are trying to sell a product we don’t believe in enough to create time in our own schedules to practice, we will not have the same enthusiasm. I know time is limited, but as my dear mother always reminded me, we all have 24 hours in a day and it is up to us to decide how we will spend it. If meditation is a priority, we will make time for it.
