Planning First Visit Additional Notes
Keep the following in mind as you prepare for your first client visit.
- If your client reports nerve pain (or symptoms that seem like nerve pain, such as tingling and numbness) or they are in physical or mental/emotional danger, refer them to the appropriate health provider.
- Sometimes, you’ll have enough information up front to create a fairly comprehensive program before the first client visit. If so, that’s great; go ahead and start her on the program at the first visit, but even the 3 take-aways listed above are beneficial for all clients.
- Don’t forget to include yogic tools such as subtle energy work, the 8 limbs of yoga, etc. with all clients, even if their chief concern is a physical manifestation, such as pain.
- Be prepared to provide a clean, quiet, private, comfortable environment to meet with your client.
- Provide accurate directions, your full address, and your contact information.
- Let your client know where to park. If it is in your home, let them know if they should knock on the door, come on in, go to the back door, etc.
- Give your client an idea of what to expect at the first session. You want your client to feel confident and at ease about being your client.
