Back to Course

All remote students should complete this Lesson. Even though it is more physical in nature, we need every student to have a basic anatomy and kinesiology knowledge. (Note: If you are not a good test taker, don’t stress. I do not ‘require’ you to take quizzes. If you know how to apply this information, then we are in good shape. That’s what I care about. If you don’t know how to apply it, that’s when you need to reach out for help. Otherwise, we are in good shape.)

Please read Chapters 1 through 6 of  Trail Guides to Movement.
Please DO NOT MARK COMPLETE until AFTER YOU HAVE SUBMITTED THE QUIZ!

This quiz covers Trail Guide to Movement, pages 1 - 90, chapters 1 - 6.

  • Please read the questions carefully and select THE BEST answer. Read this example and you will probably do better on this test!

Remember, just because an item is true does not make it the answer to THAT PARTICULAR question.

For example, imagine that I asked you: What are the primary muscles stretched in Uttanasana (Standing Forward Fold).

    If your choices were:

    • A - The hamstrings are getting the most stretch in Forward Fold.
    • B - Pigeon pose may provide a great hip stretch.
    • C - The neck is getting the most stretch in Forward Fold.

    The answer would be A.

B is true (pigeon is a great hip stretch), but it does not answer the specific question being asked.

C might be true (it is possible your neck gets a slight stretch because it is hanging freely and releasing compression), but...

The hamstrings get a much greater stretch than the neck in this pose (there are better ways to stretch the neck). Therefore, the answer is A.

Please DO NOT STRESS! You can re-take any test as many times as needed. This is not about memorization or being perfect. It is about understanding. Some people test better than others. I realize that you may know the material, but writing it down may not be your strong suite. Please realize that written tests do have a place in learning, but they are not the only way to test knowledge. Again, you can re-take as needed, so there is no need to stress. Just do your best and breathe!
