 In Chakras, Fifth Chakra

Did you know that Chakra 5 emphasizes clear communication and creativity? Keep reading to learn more about how to balance your Vishudda Chakra!

Chakra 5 is known as Vishudda and is located in the throat. It is associated with the element of ether, which is described as the upper region of the air. This makes sense, as Chakra 4 is associated with air, so ether of Chakra 5 is beyond it. This chakra especially focuses on higher communication, understanding, and listening. #1 Adjust Posture in Meditation/Prayer
While meditating and praying, keeping your chest open and looking to the sky with your hands open will help energy flow freely through the throat chakra. We often pray with our heads down in order to show humility, but that can cut off messages that may be coming in, so it is important to tilt our head to the sky.

#2 Kind Words
The thyroid, found at the base of the throat, is associated with the 5th Chakra. Every word spoken gives vibrations, so cursing and negative words cause bad vibrations. Try to use positive, kind, and true words when speaking.

#3 Include the Color Blue in Your Life
The 5th Chakra is associated with the color blue! Surrounding yourself with things such as blue crystals may help you find that balance. You can also wear a blue crystal as a necklace, as it sits the crystal close to your throat.

#4 Focus On Your Breath
Lion’s Breath/Pose is a great way to balance this chakra. This type of breath should be done with the mouth open, and is known for alleviating stress and stimulating the throat.

#5 Look at Your Blessings
Faith is a big part of the 5th Chakra. Faith is not understanding the bigger picture, but knowing that there IS a bigger picture, and that whatever is wrong will be righted in the Universe. We should cultivate faith through our gratitude and look at what has already blessed us to strengthen that faith.
